Matthew J serves as the Artistic Director of Sa’ya Salon Spa, bringing a deep passion for hair design and a commitment to creating chic, trend-forward looks tailored to each guest’s unique needs. Known for his creativity and artistic flair, he stays ahead of fashion trends and specializes in custom color design.

Trained in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Matthew J has over 20 years of experience as a Certified Red Seal Journeyman Hairstylist. His advanced training includes working with some of the most renowned international hair artists in the industry. His credentials include being a Certified Haircolorist (Redken), a Certified Session.Stylist (KEVIN.MURPHY), and a Certified Pro Smooth Over Stylist (amika). He also recently joined amika as a brand educator, sharing his expertise with other professionals.

Matthew’s career highlights include styling hair for CityTV’s Ford Supermodel Search of the World and the Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. He has styled notable clients such as British barrister Cherie Booth Blair and currently serves as the Hair Artist for actress Barbara Beall.
